5 days Nyungwe N.P experience
In the southwest Nyungwe National Park is a vast tract of virgin forest, one of the largest uncut natural forest reserves remaining in Africa and Home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other primates species (including a 400-strong troop of habituated Ruwenzori Black & White Colobus), it’s also a birder’s paradise with over 300 species, including 16 endemics, and is home to 75 different species of mammals.
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be received by one of our tour guides who will transfer you to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will do a city tour to introduce you to the history and culture of this country of a thousand hills and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
You will have breakfast early morning. After you will travel to the western province, On the Journey, you will visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province. You will have lunch also along the way at a nearby camp, After lunch, the journey continues to Nyungwe National Park.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trek
Early Morning, have breakfast from the lodge, then have a short drive to the park offices. After this you will ready and eventually will start the Chimpanzee trekking the dense forest, There are 13 species of Chimpanzee dwelling in the Forest. After Lunch, you will have a Nature/ Canopy walk way at Uwinka.
Overnight and dinner at Gisakura Guest House near the Forest.
Day 4: Monkey tracking
Today after the morning breakfast at the accommodation, you will go for the Colobus Monkey tracking (Rare species but beautiful). It also inhabitants the forest.After the trek, you will have a drive just after the park to the beautiful plantations in the area and beautiful farmland sceneries. Later head to Kibuye along the Kivu Lake. There are amazing views along the way that you will love to explore!
Overnight and dinner at Bethany Hotel
Day 5: Kibuye- Kigali
After Breakfast at the hotel, You will go for a boat ride and visit different islands on Lake Kivu. Later you will visit the environmental museum in Kibuye before heading to Kigali for your departure flight.
