You can fly through Rwanda and then transfer to Uganda because the distance is shorter compared to when you land from Entebbe. This Tour to Uganda will let you explore some of Africa’s exclusive wildlife including Mountain Gorillas, Chimpanzees, and the rest of the African wild game. These will be coupled with amazing Landscapes, culture, and historical encounters in both countries.

Day 1. Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Kisoro near Mgahinga National Park

On Arrival our guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport and embark on the Road drive headed to Kisoro, you will keep your head outside as the journey has a lot of beautiful sceneries, hills, and mountains. A stopover for lunch will be made en route. You will be able to reach the jungle where more than half of half of the world’s gorillas live. On arrival in Kisoro, check in at the lodge, Dinner and overnight stay as you wait for the next day’s Safari.

Day 2. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Batwa Trail and transfer to Bwindi Gorilla

After a morning breakfast, you will go trekking the Golden Monkey in Mgahinga National Park.
Trekking to see the golden monkeys is another highlight of the park. The Golden Monkey is a local subspecies of the widespread Sykes Monkey, also known as the “Blue Monkey” and is endemic to the high-altitude forests of the Volcanoes National Park area. The monkeys are playful and inquisitive and often spend their time leaping from bamboo branches or frolicking on the forest floor.

After the Golden Monkey experience, you will sum up the day with a Batwa trail experience. This will give you a chance to explore the rich culture of the forgotten people of East Africa. Then will shall travel back to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3. Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for briefing by park ranger guides, depart with picnic lunch boxes to start Gorilla trekking – the activity can last up to 4 hours trek or more to find the Mountain Gorillas as you hike up and down the slopes with dense mist covered vegetation. Hence you will have a packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought-after mountain Gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. You will later transfer to the Ishasha sector in the Southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the evening. You may do an evening game drive in the Ishasha sector.

Day 4. Transfer through Ishasha-Tree climbing Lions search-transfer to Mweya for the Kazinga channel boat

After having an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the Ishasha sector. You will embark on the game drive that will give you a chance to see tree-climbing lions. You will be amazed to see them resting on the branches of fig trees during afternoon hours. In the afternoon hours, you will drive to Mweya for a Boat cruise along Kazinga channel. You will appreciate the high scores of Elephants, Hippos, Buffalos Bathing, and crocodiles. Some bird species will also be seen including the Great Pelicans.

Day 5. Chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu central forest and transfer to Kabale

Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kalinzu Forest for Chimpanzee tracking to meet man’s closest cousins in the wild. You will be amazed to see these primates as they play and swing on tree branches. The central forest’s jungle life is a breathtaking one, especially for botanists, bird lovers, and primate lovers! On this expedition, a list of potential forest edge animals can be encountered such as Vervet Monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys, and butterflies. You will transfer to Kabale for an overnight dinner.

Day 6. Transfer from Kabale to Kigali International Airport via the Genocide Museum

After having breakfast or lunch depending on your scheduled flight times, jump a border crossing journey to Rwanda and later transfer to Kigali International Airport to readily catch your flight back home as you say farewell to the African wilderness. You may visit the Genocide Memorial Museum in Kigali.
